Sphera

A dance of liquid bodies that change and morph under the influence of the Moon

Sphera

Sphera is a visually impactful duet for non-conventional spaces that explores the relationship between the visible, bright side of the Moon and humankind; the luminous moonlight that we see from planet Earth and that illuminates our nights. Sphera is a dance of liquid bodies that change and morph under the influence of the Earth’s spherical satellite: the Moon.

Sphera is danced in white costumes on a circle of white astroturf. This production has evolved from [and complements] the darker Orbis (2017), performed with black capes on black astroturf.

Premiered in September 2020 at Greenwich&Docklands International Festival (Dancing City) in London.

Sphera and Orbis were both presented as part of BBC Arts and Sadler’s Wells’ digital programme Dancing Nation.
